May Food Adventures

Do you ever feel like life is just whooshing by? May and June definitely whooshed by for us. Looking back, most of it was work, the gym and unwinding. One thing we’ve noticed is that the times when we’ve focused on fitness, we tend to get less creative in the kitchen. It might be because there’s so much emphasis on eggs and vegetables for breakfast, grilled chicken or fish with vegetables for lunch and so on…which is quite boring. It totally kills your creativity in the kitchen. But in between, we did try out a few recipes to widen our repertoire a bit:

Delia Smith’s fabulous Onion Soup (from her Complete Cookery Course)

Hot Peanut Butter (like hot chocolate but more protein!)

200ml hot milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice!)
2 tbsp creamy no-sugar peanut butter
a dash of cinnamon
maple syrup to taste

  1. Gently warm the milk in a saucepan.
  2. Whisk in the peanut butter and the cinnamon.
  3. When the peanut butter is incorporated into the milk, add maple syrup to taste.
  4. Et voila!

Paleo Cookies from Against All Grain 🙂 More cakey than chewy but still divine!
